The city of Los Cabos managed to overcome the passage of the devastating Hurricane Odile. Hand in hand with the Los Cabos Unstoppable campaign, the Festival was the event that reactivated activities, thus becoming the banner of a strong and resilient destination. The Festival’s film program expanded that year, adding new sections comprising world cinema, music, environmental issues and the horror genre. The program was made up of 49 national and international titles–of which more than 90% were premieres in Mexico–, with more than 100 screenings over a 5-day period.

TRIBUTES (Special Guests)
■ Denys Arcand: Quebec director, screenwriter and actor, presented his films Le Règne de la Beauté and Les Invasions Barbares.
■ Guillermo Arriaga: Mexican screenwriter and director presented his film The Burning Plain.
■ Roger Ebert: American film critic who was honored posthumously through the screening of the documentary Life Itself.
■ Atom Egoyan: Canadian Director and Screenwriter, presented his films The Captive and Exotica.
