Los Cabos International Film Festival Unveils Its 10th Anniversary Teaser Trailer
Los Cabos International Film Festival starts its 10th anniversary celebration with the launch of an amazing commemorative teaser trailer directed by David Liles and Hugo Payén, two talented local artists from Los Cabos.
A scuba diver explores a dreamlike world in which waves and desert blend together, and where the marine wildlife —fish and whales— roam through the starry skies captured by cinematographer Jorge Pineda. The light coming from the aqualung illuminates the impressive landscape of Baja California Sur, as though it were a film projector revealing its different elements. In this scenery where the sea reigns, we discover the legendary Calypso, the ship on board which the great oceanographer Jacques Cousteau sailed when he described the Gulf of California as being the “Aquarium of the World”.
Apix Films and the duo of filmmakers join the Festival to celebrate its first decade of existence by creating this beautiful animated production, inspired by the image that David Rodrigo Pineda Ortiz conceived for the 2021 edition of the Festival. This powerful representation depicts the Cabo San Lucas Arch as a window into a place full of chances, a screen on which we can explore the best of the World Cinema.
“With this teaser trailer, we are looking to honor our inheritance, as well as to expose our natural heritage.
”David Liles
“Being the first animated teaser trailer in ten years, reflects the essence and the present of the Festival itself.” Hugo Payén
